Meet the Executive Team

James R. Nowlin, III
CEO & Managing Principal

James Nowlin is a business leader on the move. Having practiced law at one of the most prestigious law firms in Texas and having served as a Managing Director of the Dallas office of the largest legal search consulting firm in the world, Nowlin founded Excel Global Partners (EGP) with a commitment to distinguishing his firm as a high-caliber solutions provider. Realizing the rapid success of EGP's business model, Nowlin quickly grew the firm in its early years to provide services to companies ranging in size from mid-market to Fortune 100. Today, EGP is a well-respected firm with clients across the United States and a network spanning the globe.

Over the past five years, Nowlin's work with equity partner, John Sheldon, and EGP's management team has resulted in having completed several multi-million dollar commercial real estate transactions and having successfully led companies through more than five billion dollars in transactions. Nowlin credits his team's success with always sharing the client's sense of urgency and by measuring EGP's success in term of his clients' financial success.

In addition, Nowlin is an active member of several chambers of commerce and serves on numerous non-profit and governmental affairs boards. He has been published on a number of topics including finance, real estate, constitutional law, and workplace diversity. Nowlin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Duke University School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of one of its law reviews. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

John L. Sheldon
CFO & Managing Principal

Having served as International Controller overseeing operations in twenty-five countries to Chief Financial Officer of a $500 million division of a publicly-traded company, John Sheldon’s experience and commitment to client service are second to none.

Sheldon has led businesses for nearly fifteen years. During that time, he witnessed all aspects of business from working on the assembly line floor to managing company-wide change. Sheldon believes in hard work, teamwork, and positive management, each of which has served him well as a business leader.

With his diverse skills and strategic mindset for practical problem-solving, Sheldon left corporate America to leverage his rare skill set to directly assist companies on a larger scale as a lead consultant. His clients, ranging from high-growth startup firms to large-cap companies going through significant changes, have benefited from Sheldon’s experience not only in finance and operations, but from his understanding of how all functions of an organization must come together for success. Sheldon quickly becomes his clients' go-to-person to effectively coordinate their activities on major transactions and changes. He leads by sharing his clients' sense of urgency and by knowing when and how to think outside of the box.

From finance and operations to treasury and legal, Sheldon has led teams from India and China to Brazil and Germany. Sheldon realizes that his background in management and consulting, along with the successes in consulting and team management of the firm’s President, James Nowlin, provide a rare and welcomed level of leadership and expertise in the consulting industry. Sheldon and Nowlin share the belief that EGP sets a new standard of excellence for expertise and client service.

Sheldon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Susquehanna University and is a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor.

Gina Menicucci
Business Development Associate

Gina is an accomplished executive and has extensive experience in the development of venture capital backed emerging companies. Gina is the co-founder of iCare Marketing Inc., a channel marketing program designed exclusively for SYSCO Food Service. Prior to iCare Marketing, Gina was an executive manager of Dynamic Payment Ventures, a financial company which was sold to NOVA Information Systems, a subsidiary of US Bank.

Prior to her involvement with iCare Marketing and Dynamic Payment Ventures, Gina was part of the management team of CriticalArc Technologies, a supply-chain application services provider in the foodservice industry.

Gina is a Principal and serves on the Board of GRD Company and Arc Management Inc., two private companies focusing on rental property investments.

Gina graduated from University of California at Davis with degrees in Economics and Political Science. After graduation, Gina lived in Prague, Czech Republic where she worked for an American-Russian joint venture in the hospitality industry.

Outside of her professional life, Gina serves on a national board for a non-profit organization and is active in local philanthropy.
