Recommended Settings for Hyperion LCM Export

Most of the time, LCM export works out of the box, but as we all know, that is not the case for all of us all the time.  Oracle has recommended settings for properly using the LCM Export.  This is especially more significant with HFM data export.  Below is a list of settings to check and consider implementing if you’re experiencing issues, especially with HFM Data export.
  1. The LCM import_export folder needs to be shared with access granted to the account used to start services.
  2. LCM should be configured to use UNC path (//server/import_export).
  3. The Foundation Services service needs to run as the service account (or the account used to configure Hyperion).
  4. The Identity for each HFM application pool in IIS should be set as the service account.
  5. All access needs to be granted to Web, FileTransferFiletransferData, and Temp folders to the following users:

    a. Anonymous logon
    b. Everyone
    c. Network service
    d. Dcom user
    e. IUSR
    f. IIS_IUSRS

These folders are located at: Middleware_Home\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Web Middleware_Home\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Web\HFM\FileTransfer
    Middleware_Home\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Web\HFM\FileTransferData
    C:\Temp or C:\Windows\Temp

  6.  Increase the timeout property of HFM.client_timeout via epmsys_registry.bat:

    a. Navigate to Oracle_Home\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\binb. Run the command: epmsys_registry.bat updateproperty shared_servces_product/@HFM.client_timeout 1500

  7. Edit web.config located at Middleware_Home\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Web\HFMLCMService

    a. Under <system.web>, look for <httpRuntime excutionTimeout=”3600” maxRequestLength=”1572864” and change the 3600 to 36000.
The suggested settings above are not guaranteed to fix every issue, however this is a good first step when troubleshooting issues that are not due to normal configuration settings.   If you have tried the above recommendations and are still experiencing issues, it is recommended that you submit a ticket to Oracle engineering for further assistance.
